Crestline Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Williamsburg's management company, recently introduced EarthPact, an extensive sustainability initiative which includes an Energy Management Plan that sets comprehensive guidelines for sustainable business practices.

One of the first to adopt the EarthPact initiative, our Williamsburg lodging has implemented new programs and procedures to reduce our carbon footprint, from utilizing energy-efficient light bulbs, equipment and appliances to recycling and using recycled materials as much as possible.  Many of our “Going Green” programs are already in place and a number are currently in progress at this time.

• Reducing energy usage with sensors & timers
• Recycling program
• Implementing towel and linen reuse program
• Installing low-flow showerheads, sinks & toilets
• Utilizing energy-efficient equipment/appliances
• Using non-toxic cleaning supplies
• Providing reusable glass cups, mugs, dishes and napkins
• Training program for staff to participate in environment-friendly practices
• Going paperless by printing less and emailing reports, contracts, menus, etc.
• Donating/recycling used equipment
• Purchasing office supplies made from recycled materials whenever possible.
• Decorating offices with plants to absorb indoor pollution
